The Thirteen Apostles

The Thirteen Apostles, also referred to as court sorcerers is an organization of high-ranking sorcerers working directly under the King of Mebrenst, and also occupy the royal castle. In spite of what the name implies, this organization is actually nearly 100 strong, composed of unrivaled black-magic sorcerers. It's said that if the kingdom brought the Thirteen Apostles against a major city, even one as large as Alenhatam, it would be destroyed overnight.

Acquisition of Apostles

Each year, the Tower of Fang chooses their top student. The most prestigous of those who compete are chosen to join the Thirteen Apostles. They travel to the Kingdom of Mebrenst, boarding in a low-cost hotel to wait for their hearing, to see if they are truly Apostle material. This is an honor every young sorcerer of the Tower dreams to have, with the Tower having provided hundreds of apostles over the years.

• Orphen (then Krylancelo) was almost the youngest sorcerer to ever join the Apostles.
• It's implied that violence within the city will revoke one's opportunity, as happened with Orphen.
