World Map Tower

While this stunning building is frequently analogous with the Tower of Fang, the Tower of Fang is actually the larger educational complex used for training sorcerers. Nevertheless, the curving World Map Tower stands as the largest landmark of Taphrem, and the most iconic legacy of the Nornir. It is, in fact, the only remaining legacy left specifically for the humans. The Nornir are said to have left it with the guidance of: "If ever you should have doubts about the world, look here."

Overview

Basic Details

The name Tower of Fang originates from the chalky Tower's strange curved appearance. However, the name has grown to mean far more since then. The Tower itself is actually known as the World Map Tower, and is the only ruin made specifically for use by humans. The Tower was said to be carved from a giant monolith, rather than out of brick, meaning that it's one solid structure. There's a single entrance, with no windows, not even vents or air holes. The only entrance is blocked off and guarded 24/7 by sorcerers of the Tower.

Restricted Access

Access to the World Map Tower is now heavily restricted, with the only people who are permitted to enter being sorcerers. If one does not have proof of this, they are rejected at the gate.

History

Founding of the Tower of Fang:

200 years before the story begins, the Wyrd Dragons, known as the Nornir, constructed the World Map Tower to give to their offspring, the human sorcerers. They then used this tower to summon a single artifact: A book, known as the World Book.

Disagreements of Jurisdiction:

Later on, the leader of the Kimrak Church, Ramonirok, advocated to establish a protection order over the entirety of the Fenrir Forest. This became known as the "Decree of the Goddess" and was uphold by Kimrak and the Aristocracy from then on. The scope of the decree extended to things on the periphery of Fenrir as well, including the World Map Tower, meaning that officially, the Tower was under the jurisdiction of the Kimrak Church. By default, this meant that the World Map Tower was completely off limits.

40 years prior to the story, the Chief Executive Department broke the ban and entered the World Map Tower. This violation led to the Sand War, which resulted on the city of Taphrem being destroyed once more.
