A Killing Doll that was transformed into a younger version of Orphen via the Sword of Baldanders. He went on to become obsessed with being Azalie's perfect assassin and was willing to kill Orphen to achieve that goal. This profile is referencing the Killing Doll introduced in Volume 5. If you wish to know about Orphen's younger self, please refer to his profile.

Personality

As a Killing Doll, Krylancelo has a distinct disconnect from behavorial norms, in particular his aggression. He tries to be what he thinks Azalie wants him to be, and with Azalie herself not being particularly stable, this leads to a number of complications. That being said, he is fiercely devoted to her, and in spite of trying to match what he perceives her to want, he also makes rogue choices, such as the choice to kill Orphen outright so that Azalie will never get the chance to be hurt by him again.

Appearance

His appearance is the same as Orphen's appearance 5 years prior to the story, when he left the Tower of Fang. A slender, athletic boy with short black hair and dark eyes. He sometimes dresses in a cloak, similar to Orphen's formal attire, but also dresses in casual wear when the time calls for it.

History

Appearance:

Krylancelo first appeared in the city of Taphrem (in terms of the linear story), killing five sorcerers of the Tower, all of which were Elders. Even though he operated purely at night, he was identified by the Childman Network. However, before they could fully act on it, he was instructed by Azalie to warn Orphen away from the tower. This resulted in the death of the ranger, after he was spotted, and though he fought Orphen over the incident, he ultimately retreated when Leticia showed up.

Ambush:

During the night, while Cleao accompanied Vulcan and Dortin in their search for the assassin, he disguised himself as a member of the Dragon Faith to get in close. He then used his silence magic to disable Leki, and by kidnapping the dragon child, lured Cleao into a trap where he could capture her and use her as a hostage to draw in Orphen.

Death:

With hostages, Krylancelo returned to Childman's mansion, where he once underwent special training with the express purpose of countering Azalie's white magic. Even as Orphen showed up and blew a hole in the roof, Krylancelo countered his every move. However, his arrogance allowed his opponent to devise several countermeasure plans, each wittling down his strength. Finally, Orphen was able to destroy the Killing Doll by detonating a spell that damaged them both. With the doll dead, Azalie reappeared, and used the Sword of Baldanders to reduce the Killing Doll's previously "living" (and now bloody and dismembered) body to sand, ensuring that Orphen wouldn't be deemed a murderer from the crime scene.

Skills

As a mirror of Orphen, Krylancelo was able to use all of his abilities as a Stabber, including his spatial transition and the physical capabilities that Azalie had perceived him have. However, he was also able to use Wyrd Graphs, as his body still technically retained some elements of his former (Killing Doll) self, including the ability to use a Killing Dolls attack and defensive spells. Among Orphen's unnamed techniques, it was also theorized that he'd used sorcery to crush a ranger's vital organs, causing him to appear to have died in his sleep with little blood loss. As if that weren't enough, he also possessed the ability to read minds.

Spells

 • Krylancelo was known to use spells that Orphen had learned during his time at the Tower of Fang.

 • In the case of Spatial Transitioning, the Killing Doll was able to use this ability through Silence Magic, or 'Wyrd Graphs', when the spell is typically cast using Voice Magic. The use of this spell was described as writing a symbol with his finger, the trail of which shimmered. He then disappeared, which was accompanied by the sound of a candle wick being snuffed out.

 • To neutralize targets, the Killing Doll can create shafts of glowing graphs that look like long needles. These, stuck into a target, will paralyze them. This is implied to even neutralize the abilities of a Deep Dragon, as he was able to disable Leki with one without consequence.

Assorted Facts

 • Forte's Network identified Krylancelo not on its own, but by the fact that Azalie was there with him.
